What steps do you take to protect my floor when entering a home?
All of our equipment have soft wheels to protect flooring and every Ultra Clean Air employee wears protective booties on every job.

Why is it important to maintain clean air ducts?
The need for duct cleaning arises because, during the operation of the HVAC system dirt, dust, debris, allergens and other particles build up in the air ducts over time, which may adversely affect the indoor environment and performance of your HVAC system.

How long will it take to clean out my air duct system?
It typically takes 2 technicians 2.5-4 hours to clean a standard size home. (2,000-2,500 square ft.)

How often should I have my air duct system cleaned?
We recommend cleaning every 3-5 years. If someone in the household has asthma, allergies, or respiratory concerns, it can be more frequent.

Will cleaning out my air duct system create a mess in my house? A friend had it done and said that after the company left, “Dirt blew out of all their vents when the furnace turned back on.”
It is important to hire a company who can clean the “entire system." Our cleaning method is labor intensive and each system is thoroughly cleaned and inspected prior to restarting your system, so we have never had a problem with “dirt blowing out the vents” after a cleaning. There is no mess left on the completion of the job.

How do you clean an air duct system?
For best results, Ultra Clean Air prefers to employ the use of brushing and contact cleaning, whenever possible. The results are excellent and the cleaning methods we use will not damage components or negatively alter the integrity of a properly installed air duct system.

Are there different methods of cleaning an air duct system?
The three most popular methods are vacuuming, rotary brushing and air sweeping.

How much does it cost to clean out my air duct system?
Pricing is done per vent and per system and ultimately a fixed price. Beware of companies with coupon and newspaper ads that offer “Whole House Duct Cleaning for $79.00."

Will your quoted price change once we arrive and start the job?
No. All our work is a “Fixed Price” by the job in writing prior to completing the work. If the job takes a little longer than expected to complete, we will not charge any additional fees.

How do you know if your HVAC system was cleaned properly?
The best way to determine if an HVAC system was effectively cleaned is to perform a visual inspection of the system before and after cleaning. The cleaning contractor should be able to allow you sufficient access to visually inspect the system. Make sure the contractor has installed enough access panels in the ducts to reach the entire system.

Does your contractor possess the proper licenses that are required by your city or state to perform the work they are proposing?
Connecticut does require a home improvement license with the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. Unfortunately, “scams” involving unethical air duct cleaning companies have occurred in Connecticut. Insist on a firm written estimate prior to scheduling any cleaning work to be done. All written estimates should have a corporate address listed, a license number which can be verified on the State of CT, Dept. of Consumer Protection website and proof of insurance, at a minimum.
